BWY Foundation Course 1 in Bromley, Kent

The BWY Foundation Course 1 offers a chance to explore the deeper aspects of yoga, inspiring personal practice, self-exploration, and growth.

It can be taken purely for self-development or as a stepping stone toward yoga teacher training.

60 hours of teaching across 6 months, you’ll enjoy an immersive exploration of yoga beyond the scope of a regular class, including:

·       Asana – what makes a balanced yoga practice and a study of foundational postures

·       An introduction to kinesiology – how we our body moves at our joints

·       Sanskrit names

·       Breath awareness and Pranayama

·       Concentration / Meditation practices

·       Subtle energy – the Pranic Body including the Koshas and Chakras

·       Mudra

·       Mantra

·       Relaxation techniques

·       The history and paths of yoga

·       Yoga philosophy and dip into the key texts such as The Yoga Sutras of Patanjali and The Bhagavad Gita

·       Developing and maintaining a home practice

By the end of the course, you’ll have expanded your knowledge and confidence across all areas of yoga on and off the mat.

The sessions are 9.30 am to 4.30 pm (with an hour lunch)  

Deena will provide some homemade snacks on the day.  You will be required to bring your own lunch (please note there are also a couple of cafes 5-minute walk from the venue).

In our small group, it will be a safe and supportive environment,  allowing for personal attention, time to reflect, and space to ask questions or share thoughts.

Key information about your application and gaining the BWY Foundation Course 1 Certificate

A minimum of 2 years of yoga practice is required to apply for the course.

There are no written assignments or assessments, but you’re encouraged to develop your own home yoga practice and record your learning and observations in a monthly journal. 

80% attendance is required in order to be awarded the BWY Foundation Course 1 Certificate.
